The Artificial Intelligence Skills Alliance (ARISA)

ARISA is a four-year transnational initiative funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+, Sector Skill Alliance call for proposals, to set forward a sectoral approach to AI skills development.

According to the labour market needs, there is a growing demand for ICT specialists. The lack of digital skills hinders the growth and competitiveness of companies across Europe. In 2017, more than half of the EU companies recruiting ICT professionals had difficulty filling vacancies, and the situation was particularly acute with the higher digital competencies required for specialist ICT positions in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The ARISA project will develop an innovative, effective, and sustainable AI Skills Strategy, a European AI sector-wide ‘core’ curriculum with different training modules for emerging AI occupational profiles, and solutions for skills and mobility development in Europe that will meet the market needs of the rapidly expanding and evolving the AI sector in both short and long-term. The project strategy is based on market needs, it is constantly adapted and developed according to actual market demand to support the growth, innovation, and competitiveness of the sector.
